Additionally, each of our holidays is graded on a scale of 1 to 12, with 12 being the most challenging. Please refer to our grading system, which identifies each holiday's level of difficulty and enables you to compare the difficulty of two or more cycling holidays of the same type.

Road Cycle Tour of Toubkal

Early and late in the year, Morocco is the perfect destination for a road cycling holiday, with predictably good weather and a growing number of low-cost flight options into Marrakech. South of this magical, 'Arabian Nights' city, our ground-breaking new cycling holiday follows generally good tarmac roads, biking across the Atlas Mountains by way of the Tizi n'Tichka (2260m) to the desert frontier town of Zagora and then returns via an alternative, exciting and little-used road over the Tizi n'Test (2092m). En route, we will stay in simple hotels and gites and will have an experienced KE biking leader, as well as a local guide accompanying the group in the support vehicle. The whole range of Moroccan experiences awaits us - the colourful street vendors and Berber acrobats of Marrakech's central Djema el-Fna square, the exquisite flavours of the local cuisine, spectacular views of the rugged Atlas peaks and the stunning landscape of kasbahs and palm trees in the Draa Valley, as we cycle across the Jebel Sahro to the edge of the Sahara. Making a bike circuit around Mount Toubkal (4167m), North Africa's highest peak, and involving some superb days of climbing and descending on sinuous mountain roads, this is a classic long distance cycling holiday.

Ride the Kasbah - Mountain Bike Morocco

This is a classic mountain bike holiday adventure in Morocco's arid Jebel Sahro region. With the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas to the north and the Sahara to the south, the climate of the Jebel Sahro in southern Morocco is the perfect place for cycling outside the summer months. From the intoxicating city of Marrakech, we drive across the Atlas Mountains to Tinerhir and begin biking in the magnificent Todra Gorge, whose towering walls attract rock climbers from all over the world. Ascending on tarmac and then hard pack, we find ourselves in a remote mountain area, with nomadic Berber shepherds and views of the Atlas peaks. Crossing the Tamtattouchte Pass (2800m), we drop down into the beautiful Dades Valley, the so-called 'Valley of the 1000 Kasbahs'. Our journey continues, through Boulmane Dades and by way of the striking rock formation of Bab n'Ali (Ali's Gate), to finally end up at the oasis town of Zagora on the very edge of the Sahara. With its flexible itinerary and time to explore the souks and sounds of Marrakech, this great biking adventure is perfect for anyone looking to make a winter escape to Morocco and the pink and ochre coloured mountains of the Jebel Sahro!

Whether you’re a keen cyclist or enjoy the occasional bike ride at the weekend, or even if you’ve been inspired by the London Olympics and just want to give it a go, we have plenty of cycling adventures to choose from. We cycle mainly on backroads and rural tracks, using mountain bikes or ‘hybrid’ bikes that are ideal for the terrain. These are supplied by us and included in the price: you don’t need to bring your own bike or pay extra to hire one locally. We research our cycling tours with real care, combining the best routes with all the destination has to offer. On this tour we cycle 219 km over five days (an average of 44 km a day). The terrain is mainly flat or downhill on tarmac roads as we use a bus to drive the steeper sections. We have graded the route as moderate.
