How to choose your trip to morocco

Morocco is one of the most popular adventure travel destinations, with it's wide variety of attractions and easy accessibility for European travellers. Most tours either encompass all of the country or focus on the south in and around Marrakech, with the historical cities and ruins of the north an alternative destination. There are many options for cycling, family and other specialist tours. Morocco is also a great trekking destination, with the option of climbing Mount Toukbal or more extensive exploration of the Atlas Mountains.

With over 200 holidays to choose from, KE Adventure Travel has one of the very best collections of trekking and walking holidays worldwide. Graded on a scale from 1 to 12, we have holidays to suit everyone. Our tougher treks are likely to involve multi-day hikes through wilderness regions, with porter support and tented accommodation. Whilst at the other end of the scale, our softer walking holidays are more likely to be hotel or lodge-based with a day-walk format and an emphasis on uncovering the area's history, culture and cuisine. From our earliest days we've developed a range of treks that include celebrated classics such as Peru's Inca Trail trek, the ascent of Tanzania's Kilimanjaro and the ever popular Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal. Alongside these, we have always made it a priority to seek out distinctive and unique itineraries in less familiar areas such as Armenia, Cameroon, Madagascar and Burma. Whichever of our trekking or walking holidays you choose to undertake, you can be sure you'll enjoy breaking out of your day-to-day routine and exploring exotic landscapes on foot, with the chance to experience different cultures.

Atlantic Camel Caravan - Coastal Trek

8 days       from  £545 excl. flights*

North of Agadir, the Atlantic coast of Morocco is wild, remote and beautiful. This superb walking holiday spends a week following this dramatic shoreline, camping out amongst the dunes and enjoying ever-changing views of headlands, cliffs and endless fine sand beaches. Travelling in a caravan with a team of camels and their colourful drivers and visiting villages en route, this trek is a cultural experience as much as it is a real adventure. Most afternoons are free for swimming and beach games, or for relaxing. The trek ends in the ancient, white-painted port of Essaouira, a fascinating town, whose castellated walls and rows of cannon, still pointing out to sea, are a reminder of the days when pirates and other raiders threatened this coast. With its thriving fishing fleet, maze of market streets and numerous handicraft workshops, this is a great place to explore. Returning to Marrakech, the holiday is completed by an afternoon's exploration of the fascinating labyrinth of the souks and an entertaining evening in the famous and incredibly exotic Djemaa-el-Fna. If you're looking for a different perspective on Morocco, this is one holiday to consider!

Edge of Sahara Trek

8 days       from  £495 excl. flights*

This very different Moroccan adventure holiday begins with a drive south from Marrakech, across the Atlas and through the Draa Valley, to a fixed camp amongst the palm groves at Ouled Driss. Here, we meet our Berber cook team and Saharan camel drivers and set off on an unforgettable journey into the desert. We walk for around 6 hours a day, stopping for a leisurely lunch in a shaded spot and camping each night on the open sand of the dunes - beneath the star-filled Saharan skies. Taking tea with the local crew around the camp fire, hiking on little-used trails and watching the sun set between the highest dune-crests are all part of this magical desert holiday. Starting out on the dry bed of the Draa River and reaching a high point at the great dunes of Zahar, this is a winter walking holiday with a difference!
