A family adventure that takes you deep into the vast landscapes of Mongolia, this exciting journey follows in the footsteps of nomadic herdsmen, Mongol warriors and wild steppe horses. Along the way you will kayak in national parks and ride camels in the desert dunes, camp amongst the nomads and enjoy a mini Nadaam Festival with the locals.The adventure begins in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital, where you will visit an unusual toy museum before heading out to explore the landscapes of the Gun Galuut and Terejl National Parks. Here you'll have an opportunity to learn the Mongolian art of archery, kayak through the national park and camp beneath the stars in a traditional Mongolian ger.The journey then continues through the Khustai National Park, home to the famed Takhi horses, and on to the village of Khishig Under, where you'll spend time with the local villagers and be treated to a junior version of the famous Naadam Festival, before crossing the beautiful steppes to Ogil Lake and the historic Tovkhon Monastery. The journey back to the capital then takes you by way of the dunes of Mongol Els and the fascinating monastery of Erdene Zuu.
