Cycling Tours of Jordan

Sort by: Price (high) | Price (low) | Trip Length | Company

Whether you’re a keen cyclist or enjoy the occasional bike ride at the weekend, or even if you’ve been inspired by the London Olympics and just want to give it a go, we have plenty of cycling adventures to choose from. We cycle mainly on backroads and rural tracks, using mountain bikes or ‘hybrid’ bikes that are ideal for the terrain. These are supplied by us and included in the price: you don’t need to bring your own bike or pay extra to hire one locally. We research our cycling tours with real care, combining the best routes with all the destination has to offer. You’ll enjoy not just the challenges along the way and the sense of achievement at the end of each day, but also the joy of exploring on two wheels: watching the landscapes unfold ahead of you, meeting the local people and experiencing everyday life well beyond the reach of conventional tourism.

The terrain is generally flat or gently undulating with some ascents and long descents. A support vehicle accompanies all rides, providing transfers between cycling points. We have graded the route as moderate.

Jordan biking - Dead 2 Red

9 days       from  £1295 excl. flights*

A thrilling journey, awash with geographical and cultural splendour, as we cross the amazing kingdom of Jordan. On this superb mountain bike ride we encounter many of the ‘must see' locations of this engaging country and also experience its warm and traditional hospitality. From the spiritual site of Mount Nebo we'll witness the stunning views across to the ‘Promised Land', before a descent to the shores of the Dead Sea - an incredible 400 metres below sea level! This is the lowest point on earth and it's a truly unique experience to climb back up to sea level and beyond. On a mix of tarmac and jeep trails we then traverse one of the longest canyons in Jordan, arriving at the high mountain plateau of Dana, where the magnificent panorama includes the Wadi Araba desert, far below. Following a chain of impressive Crusader fortresses, including the magnificent Karak Castle, we enjoy exhilarating biking as we descend through the Valley of Moses to Petra, where we have a welcome rest and exploration day at the ancient 'rose-red city'. Moving on from Petra, we discover the majestic grandeur of the desert landscapes at Wadi Rum, once home to Lawrence of Arabia. After a night under the stars with our Bedouin hosts, it's a short ride to the Red Sea, where we will be ready for a well-earned drink and swim to end this action-packed week of adventure biking. Please note that we run this cycling holiday in conjunction with our friends at Hauser, the German adventure specialists. This enables us to gather together sufficient numbers of like-minded adventurers to get the trip up and running quickly. The cosmopolitan nature of the groups will be an important part of the experience! The holiday will be led by an English-speaking guide.

Jordan End 2 End - Road Bike Tour

9 days       from  £1395 excl. flights*

With its modern capital city, colourful history and unwavering tradition of hospitality, the Kingdom of Jordan is arguably the most attractive of Middle Eastern countries and with almost guaranteed winter sunshine, it is a superb destination for a road cycling holiday. Most people know about the star attractions of Jordan such as the ‘Rose-red City' of Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. But, there's a great deal more to Jordan, as this ‘End to End' road cycling journey will demonstrate. From Amman, we head north to visit the amazing Greek and Roman ruins at Jerash, before setting off on our long ride south to the Red Sea port of Aqaba, at the country's southern tip. With vehicle support and one of Jordan's top road cyclists as our guide, our first day's ride takes us to the Dead Sea, 400 metres below sea-level. Then, climbing up to Mount Nebo, we head south on the ‘King's Highway' via the Crusader castle at Karak to the high mountain plateau of Dana. We pass more castles and chasms, en route to the town of Wadi Musa, where we take a day off the bikes and enjoy a guided tour of the incredible hidden city of Petra. From the high point of the last day's ride, we have panoramic views across the desert, before descending to the Desert Highway for a final blast into Aqaba. A free morning, with the chance to take a dip in the Red Sea, is a good way to wrap up this unique and memorable cycling holiday.
