How to choose your trip to morocco

Morocco is one of the most popular adventure travel destinations, with it's wide variety of attractions and easy accessibility for European travellers. Most tours either encompass all of the country or focus on the south in and around Marrakech, with the historical cities and ruins of the north an alternative destination. There are many options for cycling, family and other specialist tours. Morocco is also a great trekking destination, with the option of climbing Mount Toukbal or more extensive exploration of the Atlas Mountains.

Our Discovery collection draws together the best of our holidays that focus on the culture of a destination, as well as on visiting iconic sights and embracing local traditions. Some of these Discovery holidays will also have an element of activity, combining sightseeing with short walks, for example. Others might have a multi-activity holiday format, including biking and/or rafting, for instance, and these holidays are specifically designed for the adrenaline seeker! Also within our discovery collection are those of our holidays with a wildlife emphasis, photographic workshops, and polar cruise holidays. Never too physically demanding, these are predominantly touring holidays and their grade (usually towards the lower end of our 1 to 12 scale) reflects, in part, the remoteness of the area visited and the conditions likely to be encountered. Our Discovery holidays allow the discerning traveller to get right to the heart of many of the world's most stimulating destinations.

Morocco Grand Tour

10 days       from  £745 excl. flights*

The ultimate adventure holiday in Morocco, with easy trekking and walking on most days, from the Altas Mountains to the Sahara and the Atlantic Coast. Even the experienced traveller can expect to be amazed by Morocco's variety of landscape and culture. Flying into Casablanca this far-ranging tour then travels east by way of the Roman ruins at Volubilis and the Moorish city of Meknes to the minarets and souks of the ancient Islamic city of Fes. Crossing the green Middle Atlas and then the rocky High Atlas, we stop off to do some easy hiking, before continuing on to the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here we spend a night in a fixed camp amongst the gigantic dunes at Erg Chebbi and enjoy a camel ride. Leaving the desert behind, we take a walk in the Todra Gorge and traverse the palm-fringed Dades Valley to reach the fantastic 'filmset' kasbah at Ait Benhadou. We then visit the Anti Atlas for more easy hiking through fortified Berber villages set amongst impressive rock towers, before reaching Morocco's Atlantic coast. We enjoy a wild coastal walk to arrive at the fairy-tale castle-cum-port of Essaouira. A final, free day in the magical city of Marrakech is a fitting end to this brilliant adventure. Not to be confused with other ‘Grand Tours' of Morocco, this is the real deal which ticks all the boxes of this wonderful and varied country. Staying in comfortable accommodation throughout and with all meals (except when in Fes and Marrakech) included in the price, it is also an excellent value holiday.
